Nothing hidden in the score
PornRank has exactly two families of input: official trend ranks and measured SERP metadata. Everything below can be recomputed by hand from the numbers shown in the app.
1 · Opportunity score
Weighted average over the components that actually exist for a keyword.

If a keyword has no headroom input, that component is dropped and the remaining weights are renormalised — the score never silently treats missing data as a good or bad signal. The full breakdown is stored with every metric row and rendered on the keyword page.
2 · Competition intensity
Built from page-1 views, creator dominance and supply density.
dominance = largest creator share of top-10 views, in %
supply = results on page 1 / 36 × 100
intensity = 0.55×views_pressure + 0.25×dominance + 0.2×supply
A page where one channel owns most of the views is harder to enter than a fragmented page with the same view counts — that is what dominance captures. Supply density is a proxy for how crowded the first page is; it is not a claim about total result volume.
3 · Search volume
Not connected, therefore not shown.
No licensed volume source is connected.
PornRank never derives a volume number from rank, views or guesswork. The UI renders n/a and the demand component falls back to the official rank position. Connect a licensed provider under Admin → Data sources to show real ranges. Values imported from an authorised CSV are stored with their source label.
4 · Data sources & access rules
What we read, and what we refuse to do.
- Official Pornhub Insights publication via its public WordPress REST API — trend topics and the transcribed 2025 top-search ranks.
- Page 1 of the public search result per keyword — one request, 1.5 s pause, honest bot user agent, no pagination, no sorting parameters.
- Public watch pages for the top 3 results only, to read published tags and upload dates.
- No login, no paywall, no captcha solving, no proxy rotation, no header spoofing. HTTP 403/429 aborts the job and is recorded in the import log.
- No explicit media is stored or proxied — only text metadata (titles, tags, counts, dates).

5 · Limits you should know
Honest constraints beat confident nonsense.
- · A single page-1 snapshot is a sample of supply, not a full index. Treat competition as directional.
- · Views shown are as published on the public page at capture time; they move constantly.
- · Tag suggestions are derived from ranking titles, related searches and the tags of the top 3 results.
- · Official rank position is a yearly measure of site-wide search interest — not a per-keyword monthly volume.
- · Public endpoints change. Every run is logged, and a blocked source stays visibly blocked instead of silently degrading.
